Location-Assisted Check-in
What is Location-Assisted Check-in?
It is a new feature that works alongside our existing QR-code system. To check in successfully, members must now be physically at your location to scan the QR code.
Why are you introducing this feature?
This feature is being introduced to ensure that members are at the correct location when they check in. This helps keep the system transparent and reliable for everyone.
What are the benefits for my studio?
The benefits to you include:
Helps ensure that only members who are physically present can check in, securing availability in your classes.
Faster check-ins for instantly booked classes, with a new one-tap check-in option when members are at your venue.
Better visibility of your location for members in your area.
What Partners Need to Do
What do I need to do?
You must make sure your location details are up-to-date on the Urban Sports Club platform.
How do I check or update my location pin?
Please follow these three steps:
Log in to your Partner Portal account.
Go to Studio > Location > Choose your location.
Make sure the pin on the map exactly matches your location (specifically, where members scan the QR code).
What if my pin is already correct?
If your pin already matches the exact spot where members scan the QR code (e.g., your reception desk), you do not need to do anything.
My venue is large (e.g., a hotel or a large gym). Where should I place the pin?
The pin must exactly match the location where members scan the QR code. This is typically at your front desk or main entrance.
My classes are outdoors (e.g., in a park). How will this work?
The pin must be placed at the exact meeting point where members scan the QR code to check in for your activity.
The Member Experience
What changes for the member during check-in?
Members must be physically at your location to scan the QR code. They will also need to grant the app location access.
What should I do if a member is at my studio but cannot check in?
If a member is physically present but is blocked from checking in, first ask them to ensure they have enabled location services for the Urban Sports Club app. If the issue persists, please reach out to our Partner Support Team via the contact form in the Partner Portal or Help Center.
How do I spot an "invalid" check-in?
An invalid check-in will be easy to spot. It will show up in a red dialog box with the reason why it failed.
The New Check-in Confirmation Screen
What is changing on the check-in confirmation screen?
Starting at the end of November, the design of the check-in confirmation screen in the app will change. This is a visual update to provide a smoother process and allow for future improvements.
Is the "old" confirmation screen still valid?
Yes. The old confirmation screen is still valid for now. Because this change is tied to an app update, there will be a transition period until the end of November where some members may still show the old screen.
How do I identify a valid check-in (on both old and new screens)?
The characteristics of a valid check-in have not changed. A valid check-in is identifiable by:
The green background.
The member's profile picture and name are visible.
The circle around the profile picture moves.
The venue and activity name are shown.
The check-in date and time, plus a time counter since the check-in.
